ANIMAL CONTROL HEARINGS
-- GROUND RULES --
1. All speakers must state their name
for the record.
2. Only one person will speak at a time.
3. Anyone speaking must address the
Board of Selectmen, except when asking questions of witnesses.
4. Hearings will be conducted civilly.
Foul language, yelling, or use of degrading and insulting remarks
will not be tolerated.
5. The Animal Control Officer or police
officer will speak and present their case first.
6. When the ACO or police officer finishes
their presentation, the owner may ask questions of the ACO, police
officer, or any witnesses used. The owner may then present and
finish their case.
7. The ACO or police officer may then
ask questions of the owner and/or owner's witnesses.
8. Selectmen may ask questions at
any time, but should try to limit their questions to the speaker.
9. There will be a time limit of 5 minutes
per side, with rebuttal limited to 2 minutes.
