EMPLOYMENT
It is the policy of the Barre Town Police Department not to accept applications for full time positions, unless a vacancy currently exists.

If a vacancy does occur, the announcement will be posted on this site. The Barre Town Police Department is currently looking for individuals who are interested in becoming part-time police officers.

If you are interested in working as a part-time officer, I encourage you to contact this office for an application.



HOW TO BECOME A BARRE TOWN
PART-TIME POLICE OFFICER?

An applicant must be at least 18 years of age, as a minimum standard - be a high school graduate or possess a high school equivalency diploma (GED Certificate).

The applicant must take and satisfactorily pass the Entrance Exam that is administered by the Vermont Criminal Justice Training Council.

The applicant must take the MMPI test.

Applicant must submit to a thorough background investigation.

Applicant will be required to take a pre-employment polygraph examination.

Successful applicants up to this point will be referred to an interview process. At that time, further details will then be supplied to applicant.
