The Barre Town Police Department is dispatched by Lamoille County Sheriff's Department. Lamoille provides 24 hour call center services, and they will contact the Barre Town Officer on Duty when police services are needed. Dispatching can be reached either by calling 9-1-1 during an emergency or by calling (802) 479-0508 for non-emergency related concerns.

The Barre Town Police Department administrative telephone number, (802) 479-0509, should be used to follow up on reports, to reach the Police Chief, or for other calls not requiring the attention of the Officer on Duty.

The Animal Control Officer is attached to the Police Department, but he is not a police officer. To request ACO services, call Justin Pickel (802) 479-0509.

Similarly, the Fire Warden often works closely with the Police Department (burn permits, fireworks permits, etc). The Fire Warden, Christopher Day, can be contacted by calling (802) 498-8694.
