Please note consumer electronics will no longer be accepted at Town bulk trash collection events. The Centeral Vermont Solid Waste Management District accepts these items (computers, televisions, stereos, printers, copiers, fax machines, VCR's and telephones) every day the Wilson Depot is open. Read below for more information.

A residential bulk trash collection service will be provided to Barre Town residents on Saturday, May 8, 2004 from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Bulk trash items must be taken to the Public Works Garage on the Websterville Road. The service is for Barre Town residents only; proof of residency is required. You may be turned away if residency cannot be verified. A utility bill or Town tax bill with name and address will serve the purpose. The fees are $3 per car, $5 per pickup truck, $7 per larger truck or a pickup truck with a trailer. In addition, a donation to a local chairty or service is requested. Loads on trucks larger than 1-ton size will not be accepted. Salvaging is permitted on September 13. The service is for large bulk items, not small items that could be disposed of through typical weekly trash collection. Examples of bulk items include:

Many items are not accepted at the Town Bulk Trash Day and can be taken to the CVSWMD Wilson Depot. The Wilson Depot on Pitman Road in the Wilson Industrial Park is open every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fees are charged.
