Cemetery Commission

The Cemetery Commission has full charge and responsibility for the care and maintenance of the town’s cemeteries.  It establishes the policies, rules and regulations for operation of the cemeteries; sets prices for services provided; lays out lots, drives and paths; and recommends to the Selectboard prices for burial lots.

The five members are appointed by the Selectboard to 5-year terms, so one term expires every year.  Members may be re-appointed.  Emails and letters of interest in serving on the Commission are accepted at the Town Manager’s Office from late April through mid-May.
The Sexton (the working cemetery supervisor) attends meetings and informs the Commission of operational matters.  To leave a message for the Cemetery Commission, email offices@barretown.org.  For information about Barre Town’s cemeteries, see the Cemetery pageFor the next Cemetery Commission meeting, please see the town calendar.
