Boards and Commissions

In this chapter of the Barre Town web site, information about the standing committees, boards, and commissions is presented. Use this chapter to learn who serves on the various boards, when they meet and how to communicate with the staff person serving the board. The agendas and meeting minutes are posted for examination. If the board or commission uses forms for conducting business with the public, they will be posted too.

Please note that all minutes in these archives are considered DRAFT unless approved without amendment in the following meeting. Otherwise, minutes are amended as detailed in the following meeting's minutes. Please check the following meeting's minutes for approval before considering any minutes true and correct.  All boards and commission meetings are open to the public and are held in the the Municipal Office Building. Please use the side Annex entrance for all commission and board meetings.

To express your interest in serving on an open or vacant seat on a standing committee, board or commission, send an email to offices@barretown.org or letter to the Town Manager's Office, PO Box 116, Websterville VT 05678 stating your interest in which committee, board or commission. It is not required but helpful if you include answers to all or some of the questions in this document: http://www.barretown.org/BoardCommissionLetterOfInterest.docx

Regional Governance:

Vermont does not have county government, but there are a few regional bodies that provide guidance or governance on specific issues.
