Town Clerk

Notary Public

A Notary Public is an officer appointed by the State of Vermont to serve the public as an impartial witness to notarize important documents such as deeds, power of attorney, and many other legal documents.  In the Town Clerk-Treasurer's Office there are 4 notary publics on staff that provide this service with no additional fee. To have a document notarized you must appear in person at town hall and provide identification. Do not sign the document ahead of time as this will invalidate the notarization.
