Selectboard

The five members of the Selectboard are elected by town voters at the Annual Election Of Officers held on the second Tuesday in May.  Members are elected to 2-year or 3-year terms; consequently, every May two members are elected.  There is no term limit.

The Selectboard is the legislative and governing body of the town.  It, along with the Budget Committee, adopts a budget that is submitted to the voters for approval; it sets the total town property tax rate; it hires and removes the Town Manager; and it enacts and amends ordinances and adopts policies to govern conduct, activities, and conditions within the town.

The public may speak to the Selectboard during the Receive Guests agenda item. This agenda item is reserved for members of the public to address the Board with an appropriate topic which is not on the agenda. For appropriate uses please refer to the Policy for Public Input and Participation at Selectboard Meetings. Please note that the Selectboard is not likely to make any decisions about unannounced items.

When the starting time or location is changed, a notice is published in the local paper and should be listed in the Announcements page. For the next Selectboard meeting, please see the town calendar.
