CEMETERY COMMISSION

Wilson Cemetery Columbarium

The Cemetery Commission meets the fourth Wednesday of the month at 6:30 P.M. in the Barre Town Municipal Building.  It is not uncommon for the Cemetery Commission to cancel meetings during the winter months.  The five members are appointed by the Selectboard to 5-year terms, so one term expires every year.  Members may be re-appointed.  Emails and letters of interest in serving on the Commission are accepted at the Town Manager’s Office from late April through mid-May.

The Cemetery Commission has full charge and responsibility for the care and maintenance of the town’s cemeteries.  It establishes the policies, rules and regulations for operation of the cemeteries; sets prices for services provided; lays out lots, drives and paths; and recommends to the Selectboard prices for burial lots.
