The Zoning Ordinance
Re-write Committee is comprised of seven people appointed by the
Selectboard to serve four-year terms. They come from different backgrounds
and provide input from their various areas of expertise and all
are volunteers. The Zoning
Re-write Committee consists of two members of the Planning Comission
and five citizens at large.
The Zoning Ordinance
Re-write Committee is responsble for re-writing the
Barre Town Zoning Ordinance that was first writtenin 1966. The
Town staff working on this progject include the Town Manager, Zoning
Administrator, and Management Intern. The town staff are responsbile
for working with Committee members to review existing policies,
establish a vision for the future, look at other towns' ordinances,
incorporate Town Plan suggestions, participate in public hearings
with the Planning Commission and Selectboard, and finally produce
a zoning ordinance that is clear, concise, and consistent with common
development practices now and for the future.
The Zoning
Ordinance Re-write Committee meets the first Wednesday of every
month at 7;00 p.m. in Conference Room #3 in the Municipal Building
in Lower Websterville. All meetings and hearings held by this committee
are open to the public.
