Election/Polling Place/Hours:.
The Barre Town Open Meeting will be held on Wednesday,
May 2, 2012 at the Barre Town Municipal Building, Selectboard
Meeting Room. More information will be available when the warning
has been signed. In prior years this meeting was used to vote on
setting the property tax and sewer use charge due dates, giving
authorization to the Selectboard to sell property, awarding the
Wendell Pelkey Citizenship Award, and providing a brief overview
of the upcoming municipal budget. This year the meeting will be
televised on CVTV.
The Barre Town Election of Officers & Austrailan
Ballot voting wiill be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012.
Polling hours are 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. To view

Deadline for Petitions for Town Offices - 30 signatures
- filed with Town Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April
2, 2012
Deadline to register to vote in the May elections is Wednesday,
May 2, 2012, 5:00 p.m. at the Town Clerk's Office.
The usual polling place for Australian Ballot voting in Barre
Town is the Barre Town Elementary School gymnasium, located
in Lower Websterville across from the Wilson Industrial Park. This
facility is handicap accessible. If you require assistance at the
polling place please contact the Town Clerk’s office at 802-479-9391.
Early/Absentee
ballot request(s):

The early/absentee ballots will be available
approximately 30 days prior to each election, 45 days for federal
elections.
·
Sample ballots are posted at the locations
under Voter Registration and on this website.

Your request can be made in person, by phone
or by e-mail; or
· You
can early vote in the Town Clerk's Office, pick up your own
ballot and take it with you to vote at home, have it mailed, or
make arrangements for two Justices of the Peace to bring ballots
to your home on election day.
·
There are no “standing orders” for absentee ballots.
You must request a ballot for each election. Exceptions:
1) You can request a ballot for both the Primary and General Election,
and 2) Military requests are valid for one year.
· If
you do not sign the voted envelope your vote will be considered
spoiled.
· Voted
ballots can be returned to the Clerk's Office by mail, in person,
through the drop box (located at the front of the municipal building),
or by delivering to the polling place on election day.
