Recreation Area & Athletic Complex
The Recreation Area and Athletic Complex are located behind the Barre Town Middle & Elementary School in Lower Websterville, VT. The athletic fields are primarily used for middle and high school sports, including: baseball, softball, field hockey, and soccer. In addition, youth sport organizations and adult soccer, baseball and softball leagues (two men's leagues, and co-ed) utilize the facilities. Use of the athletic fields is scheduled by the Parks & Recreation Director and Town Recreation Board. If you wish to request use of a facility, download, complete, and submit this form by email to JCrossley@barretown.org. You may also mail a completed form to PO Box 124, Websterville, VT, 05678. Facility Requests are subject to availability. The local Middle and High School have priority use of facilites for their season, followed by youth leagues, and then adult leagues. Use of fields must be approved prior to any use. The Director of Parks & Recreation, alongside seasonal maintenance staff, may determine the fields to be ineligible for play on a given day based on different factors, including: weather, field saturation level, or capital improvements taking place. In the event of a game rain out, reach out to the Director to reschedule.
To reserve the picnic pavilion for a family reunion, company picnic, or club outing download the picnic shelter reservation form and submit to Offices@barretown.org AND/OR JCrossley@barretown.org. You may also mail a completed form to PO Box 124, Websterville, VT, 05678. A large barbeque pit, water, electricity, lights, and horseshoe courts are available at the picnic pavilion.
