2024 Elections

The Barre Unified Union School District Annual Election, Central Vermont Career Center School District Annual Election, and the Presidential Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. You can now request absentee ballots through https://mvp.vermont.gov/ or by calling the Clerk’s Office at 802-479-9391. Additionally, early/absentee ballot requests can be emailed to Tina Lunt at tlunt@barretown.org.

Please remember there are no standing orders for early/absentee ballot requests – you must request ballots each calendar year. To participate in the Presidential Primary, voters will be asked to select the Democrat or Republican ballot. State law requires you to request a specific party ballot. https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/17/057/02704

Ballots for the Presidential Primary will be available 45 days prior to the election. Ballots for the BUUSD and CVCCSD election will be available at least 20 days prior to the election. **Please note that the Presidential Primary ballots will be mailed separately from the BUUSD and CVCCSD ballots. Please use the envelopes provided to return your absentee ballots. DO NOT return all three ballots in the same envelope. 

Nomination Petition Deadline:
BUUSD officers to be elected are two BUUSD Board members from Barre Town for a term of 3 years. CVCCSD officers to be elected are one at-large from Washington Central Unified Union School District for a term of 3 years. Nominating petitions for BUUSD/CVCC offices are due to the Town Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024. Candidates are required to submit a completed and signed Consent of Candidate Form no later than the petition deadline.
